| Bio: | In case you haven't guessed, my name is Mark. I work as a land man, going into podunk courthouses and figuring out who owns the oil & mineral rights on property. Yeah, it's as boring as it sounds, but it pays pretty well. I tend to be in a good mood most of the time, but I admit this journal comes across as a bit...downbeat, if I'm posting in a bad mood. I try to avoid angry posting as much as possible. Ah well. Better taking it out on the cyberpage when I am in a funk than taking it out on innocent bystanders. Other things about me...I live in Fort Worth, Texas. I grew up on the other side of the metroplex, in a suburb of Dallas. I live with my very nice boyfriend, John, and his cat, Gypsy. We've been together two years and counting. In addition to my land work, I also tutor high school students for the verbal sections of the SAT and ACT. I love movies, and will watch just about anything except for bad Dead Teenager Movies. I'm a Christian, though I spend most of my time not acting like it. I consider myself a moderate Democrat. I really enjoy college football, even if my alma mater (Missouri) tends to suck more often than not [edit: except this year--#4 in the final AP poll!]. My dream is to actually buck down and write the books I've been wanting to write, but I'm fairly lazy, so the ideas continue to just live in my head (and on the page--at least Chapter 1 and 2). I love books and reading, but for some reason, never had time to. I enjoy most things animated (except for anime). Pearls Before Swine is the best comic strip going. My favorite all-time TV shows are The Simpsons, Arrested Development, The West Wing, and Friends. I play competitive quiz bowl. My team is very, very good (2005 Trashional champions). And yes, I'm a big giant nerd, in case you haven't figured it out yet. I'll shut up now. :) | |||||
